22.12 (fan hou jue)
The Master Tung point is on the dorsal aspect of the hand, 1 - 1.5 cun distal to 22.05 (Ling Gu) and on the ulnar side of the first metacarpal bone. Locate the point at the region where the shaft of the bone turns to the head of the bone. In the image, 22.12 is shown in blue and abbreviated as FHJ. Notice how Fan Hou Jue forms a triangle with 22.04 and 22.05 in the web of the thumb.
Indications
Pain the clavicle, neck, shoulders, trapezius, upper back and scapulothoracic area. In some regards this point functions like LI 4 for general pain but is more specific to the upper back, neck, and shoulder girdle. When considering the function of this point, it is useful to remember the area covered by the trapizius and its attachments to the base of the neck, C7 - T 12, the calvicle, scapula, and ribs. The point 22.12 likely influences the trapezius via the myofascial connections between the dorsum of the hand, the forearm extensors, deltoids, and trapezius.

In some cases it is appropriate to needle Fan Hou Jue with Ling Gu, and Fan Hou Jue may also be used instead of 22.04. Since Fan Hou Jue is in close proximity to both 22.04 and 22.05, it has similar functions and should be used as a replacement when 22.04 and 22.05 have already been needled several times.
