Indications
These points are useful for many disorders including general pain, especially pain associated with the spine, neck, back, and shoulders. They are also useful for knee pain, digestive pain, and menstrual pain.

As the points are located on the hand they may be used for conditions affecting the head and face including eye disorders, tinnitus, common colds, sore throats, and upper respiratory problems.

Neurological conditions such as hemiplegia, numbness, dizziness, and neuromuscular disorders may also be addressed with these points.

Additionally, they are used for internal organ conditions such as palpitations, kidney disease, edema, pancreatitis, enlarged spleen, and digestive disorders.

Many of the indications are similar to LI 4, but as these points are often needled as a three point set, they can have more prounced affects than needing LI 4 alone. They should be used for non-responders and can produce good results in clients who have not responded to other acupuncture point combinations in the hand such Ling Gu, Da Bai, and Xia Bai.

It is important to remember to thread the needles deeply, 1 - 1.5 cun between the metacarpal bones.
