33.08 & 33.09 for for treating hip and lumbar pain

These points function similar to hands points for treating hip and lumbar pain. They work like Da Bai, Ling Gu, Shang Bai, and Xia Bai (22.04, 22.05, 22.06, 22.07). When treating hip and lumbar pain start with the points on the hands and use these points in later stage treatments.

In myofascial anatomy, acupuncture points on the Superficial Back Arm Line (SBAL) are often useful for pain in the trapezius, upperback, and lumbo-pelvic regions. Fascially, there are direct and indirect connections between the forearm extensors, trapezius, and latissimus dorsi. Understading the myofascial anatomy related to the functions of acupuncture points can greatly assist in making better point selections and improving clinical results.
