77.01, 77.02, 77.03, 77.04 - Straight Tendon, Achilles Tendon Points

The points 77.01 - 77.03 are located directly on the achilles tendon with the first point (77.01) located between the lateral and medial malleolus. The next two points are located 2 and 4 cun above the first point. 77.04 is located 6.5 cun above 77.01, but can also be found by locating the most reactive tender point in the region.

Acute and chronic conditions of the neck and occipital region, especially when the deep neck muscles and structures are involved. They may be used for whiplash, cervical disc herniations, and bone spurs in the vertebrae.

These points are some of the best to use for neck pain due to various pathologies. The SBL includes many of the deep neck muscles like the rectus capitis posterioris and obliquus capitis muscles. As the points on the achilles tendon reach deep level structures, these points are useful for disorders affecting the cervical vertebrae and discs.
Contrast the use of these points with those on the hands like 22.06, Luo Zhen, and SI 3.
